MELANIE BEAN is an active member of the Tennessee Associates of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. She is also a member of the Tennessee Trial Lawyers Association, several community civic organizations and serves as Secretary to the Fifteenth Judicial District Bar Association.
Melanie focuses her practice in trial litigation. She primarily litigates family law issues of divorce and custody, as well as, vigorously defending individuals accused of crimes. She is committed to helping people and is passionate about exhibiting the hard work ethics instilled early on through her rural upbringing in Clay County, Tennessee.
She received her Bachelor of Business Administration and Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice degree from Cumberland University in Lebanon, Tennessee and her Doctor of Jurisprudence from Stetson University College of Law in St. Petersburg, Florida. At Stetson, Melanie was honored with the Williams F. Belws Award for her Pro Bono service.
